I love going to gym. Since attending the induction on Tuesday evening (followed by a light workout), Peter and I have been every lunchtime. I'll be getting a silver card which will allow me unlimited gym and pool access until the very end of the academic year (first week of June). Costs £50 but Peter calculated that it currently costs us about £12 a week if we aim to have a lunchtime workout every day of the week. Its also great having somebody to workout with since you're able to support each other and keep the enthusiasm going; I know on my own, I'd probably only visit the gym once or twice each week.
I recently finished the amazing series, Planetes (means "wanderer" in ancient Greek). The last 6 episodes kept me on edge and the ending was one of the most satisfying I had seen in a very long time. I've ordered all 6 volumes of the manga from Amazon after being told its very different to the anime. Do give this one a chance; I put my reputation on the line that you won't regret it.
Watched Infernal Affairs the other day, courtesy of James. Cracking movie, triads and gunfights with the odd moment of comedy. I'll be renting the sequel (which is actually the prequel) tomorrow evening which features the two actors who'll be playing Ryosuke and Nakazato in the live-action Initial D movie.
Currently playing a new RPG from Nippon Ichi, called Phantom Brave, on the PS2. Quite a different game interface, with the anime influenced character designs found in Nippon Ichi's other works, La Puecelle Tactics, and Disgaea - Army of Darkness. The story feels very 6th Sense-ish; the lead character, Marona, can "see dead people" called "Phantoms". She's able to befriend them and call them out to battle by manifesting their spiritual body in an every day object such as a tree or rock. Doing so changes the Phantom's base stats, offering more defense, or intelligence for example. It doesn't use a grid system so it can get a bit confusing at times but once you're over this, you shouldn't have any problems. Highly recommended.
