Rez meets Tetris meets Columns

It arrived, it finally arrived!  From the creator of the critically acclaimed Rez comes Lumines (pronounced Loo-Min-Ess) for the PSP.  A cracking little puzzle game, its use of colour and sound leaves the player in somewhat of a transfixed state.  Sadly, my mother has decided to hog the game and has now spent more time on it than I have, pfff...

Volume 9 of the Neon Genesis Evangelion manga also arrived.  I was skeptical at the manga from various extracts I'd read online; it seemed like the same story we all know but with a few scenes slightly altered.  While this is true, after reading all 8 volumes I do highly recommend it to any Evangelion fan who's after a bit more.  A number of scenarious have been reworked (for the better) or simply removed.  There's very little emphasis on the Evangelions and Angels and it feels much more like a character piece.  The interactions between the cast are played up and to me, it feels like you're catching up with some old friends you've not seen in a while.

What are my plans for the rest of the day?  Well, I'm having dinner with my uncle from London who will shortly be paying a trip to Japan.  You can bet I've got a shopping list as long as my arm for him to bring back for me (shhh, don't tell the customs folk at Heathrow).
