After beating story mode in Dead Or Alive Ultimate 105 times, I have finally unlocked each and every one of the girls' different costumes. The battling beauties have either 15 or 20 different outfits in their wardrobes, ranging from casual workout wear all the way to risqué swimsuits. All in all, this has taken me about 20 hours to accomplish, 25 if I were to attempt to unlock the blokes' costumes too. I do like Dead Or Alive as a beat 'em up game, more so than Tekken or Virtua Fighter. The characters in DOA move with a fluidity which isn't present in other 3D beat 'em ups; you only have to look at the side-stepping in Soul Calibur to see what I mean, they look like they're shuffling along. Of course, there is a reason why DOA encourages movement around the arenas since they are highly interactive; Aerial Gardens is a never ending tier of waterfalls where the only limit is your opponent's health bar. Coming out in March for PAL territories, I highly recommend it if you're an Xbox owner longing for a 3D beat 'em up other than Soul Calibur 2.
O2, being the generous network that they are, recently ran their usual promotional offer of free pay-as-you-go SIM cards. For the first time ever, they've allowed participants to receive up to 4 cards per order so I've now acquired 12 for myself. And yes, most of these shall be heading to eBay in the coming weeks, right now its simply flooded with the same SIM cards from other like-minded people. If anybody wants any, I'm sure I can pass one on.
I've just started watching a new'un from this anime season called Mahoraba. Not to be confused with Maburaho, also from JC Staff (who comes up with these names?), its about an art student going to live in an apartment complex in Tokyo. Sounds like familiar territory already doesn't it [cough]Love Hina, Ai Yori Aoshi, Maison Ikkoku[/cough]? Being anime, the landlady is naturally extremely pretty allowing for many an awkward situation to occur between her and the art student. So, what's unique about this particular show then? Well, the landlady it seems is tri-polar, as in she has three different personalities. One is the serene Kozue, the other is the permanently angry Saki (who speaks with a Kansai accent), and the third is Nanako, with the mentality of a 6 year old kid (so very cute). Its a surprise hit for me and looks like it'll be a lot of fun, comes recommended so do check it out.
