Yes, yes folks, Resident Evil fever (perhaps its the T-virus?) has finally been unleashed after whats seems like an age. The fourth installation of the series is simply stunning, both visually and aurally. The stereo down-mixing is incredible, makes me wish I had a surround setup capable of decoding Dolby Pro Logic II sources. As predicted, the game also breaks a number of what I'd regard as traditional Resi conventions; for example, you're given so much ammunition that it is actually unwise to try and conserve it all. Leon only has a limited amount of space to carry items and you'll only end up with a lot more irate Spanish villagers after you. The other convention broken is that head shots actually work against you later on. Yes, you read that right but I won't explain why, you'll have to play the game to find out! The other major change is that all reloading must now be done in-game whereas all games before allowed you to reload via the inventory screen too, essentially cheating time. Even the demo allowed this. I don't mind this so much, it just means you have to keep an eye on the status of your weapons more often and reload when you have a spare moment.
I have also completed Ridge Racers. Every car, every course, every movie has been unlocked and there is nothing more left for me to do. I may attempt time attack later on though I'll probably just end up spending more time polishing my Lumines technique instead.
I've downloaded a shed load of new anime this weekend which all needs to be watched. I don't want a backlog to develop since I've seen it go from bad to worse with other people and shows have been abandonned as a result. A big no-no in my book if it can be avoided, and if the show isn't cack.
Laundry was done this morning while it was relatively quiet since I had accumulated around two week's worth, better to do it sooner rather than later as they say.
And the title of this blog entry? Well, its a quote from a t-shirt that the lead character, Yukito, wears in AIR. Amazing show, full of lush detail and top notch animation. WATCH IT!
Right, enough from me. Time to catch up with Naruto.
