Ahoy there me buck-ohs! Well, I'm now back in Aberystwyth for what I hope will be a successful 2005 for me.
So, what have I been up to since yesterday? Well, I bought the superb Logitech Driving Force Pro wheel (the one with the gear stick and 900 degree turning) but sadly, its not for me. Stu requested it since he's decided to invest in the gear necessary to play Initial D - Special Stage on the PS2. We tested out the wheel on my current setup and while the wheel performs superbly, the paddles and gearstick aren't recognised by the game at all. We had to resort to the d-pad or face buttons to shift between gears and as any hardcore Initial D player will tell you, automatic transmission simply doesn't work on the passes of Akina.
On the journey to Aber, I decided to pop a few episodes of Naruto on my PSP to tide me over. While I did enjoy what I'd seen of the show, I did also feel horribly nauseous due to having to focus on subtitles in a moving vehicle. I think I'll watch the remainder (all 18gb or so, so far) on the TV and Xbox. Witch Hunter Robin has also entered its first story arc at episode 12. I must admit, I did actually prefer the episodic nature since this new found contunuity was rather disorienting at first; I'll have to watch more before I make up my mind fully and you should expect a review up on aberanime.co.uk fairly soon.
In other news, my copy of Resident Evil (hence the title of the blog entry) has been shipped from Manhattan, New York and should arrive early next week, although sans umbrella. It seems NCSX.com got a little excited and presumed the umbrella would be an "Umbrella Corporation" one (a dream come true that would have been) but sadly, its just a regular black "Biohazard 4" one; not really worth the extra $40 including shipping so I've opted for just the game. Its gonna be a tough week, resisting the urge to play until all my major exams are out of the way.
Right, I'm gonna head off and try to finish Witch Hunter Robin and I hope to see you all for Laputa - Castle in the Sky tomorrow evening.
