I think I'm a believer. Just the other day, I foolishly managed to lose £50 after deciding to withdraw some money from an ATM machine... Guess I shouldn't pretend to be religious anymore!
I'm currently burning a large number of anime series to DVD now that a few have finally been completed. Whilst this is happening, I can't really do much at all with my VAIO and I can't be arsed to go get my iBook from upstairs so I've resorted to updating my blog here.
So, what's been happening in my life lately? I went to Memorabilia with Khang on Saturday where we also met up with Dave and Craig. I picked up two Misato keyrings, Appleseed (Special Edition in tin case), and Steamboy on DVD. I now have a superfluous copy of Appleseed on DVD up for grabs if anybody's interested.
Today, I helped my Polish friend, Ralph pick out a laptop from Micro Anvika over at Selfridges. We decided to go with the Fujitsu Siemens Amilo selling for an awesome £499. Processor's not so hot but the rest of the laptop is well specified. I'll be helping him sort out a wifi router for his flat soon.
Exchange rate for US dollars peaked on Saturday with HSBC at 1.7511. For that weekend only too, they were offering free £10 cashback with all currency orders so I quickly ordered up the rest of my holiday moolah. Sadly, US currency has $100 bills which are common place (much more so than £50 notes here) so I merely have fourteen of them as opposed to lots of $20 bills; less impressive all around.
I've given my trusty Canon digital Ixus to my mum now that I've decided to upgrade to the new Canon Ixus 50 (one up from Khang's). Sporting 5 megapixels, a huge screen, and considerbaly better battery life, Canon will once again be making money from me for my photograpical needs.
Speaking of Khang, he should be all settled in now in Vietnam. The first SMS I received from him this morning was sent after over 24 hours of almost constant travel. The most I've ever done is around 18 hours due to a major detour. A number of years ago, I was paying a visit to Hong Kong during the Easter holidays when a chap on the plane suffered a heart attack. We had to make an emergency landing in Russia to allow for paramedics to see to him. Should have seen it coming really; the dude was seriously over weight and had what I like to call "turkey neck". Walking time bob pretty much.
I've been living off nothing but instant curry flavoured ramen noodles lately and I'm starting to feel really shitty. There's nothing else which really takes my fancy these days, I think it's time to visit Sainsbury's to see what they have to offer right now...
